Our Strategy

This strategic plan(2021-2025) builds on the momentum and successes from our previous work and drives us forward in continuing to serve the community’s needs in an ever-changing healthcare system landscape. We recognize that, due to the dynamic nature of the healthcare sector in Uganda and world over, this plan cannot present a permanent set of directions. Instead, we will continually evaluate our strategy to ensure it is responsive to the health needs of our community and conforms to national standards. Looking ahead, this strategic plan will serve as a guide, propelling us toward achieving our vision. This plan builds on our strengths while also challenging us to think differently and harness the dynamic technologies in healthcare sector to remain relevant to the people we serve.

After a critical assessment that entailed SWOT and contextual analyses, Holy Cross Orthodox Mission Hospital came up with 5 strategic goals to address the 5 overarching strategic issues that were identified. Each of the goals below has corresponding high level outcomes they contribute to and a set underlying implementation strategy.

Strategic goal 1: Integrate Orthodox Christian values in provision of healthcare to all clients
Strategic goal 2: Improve client/patient experience.
Strategic goal 3: Increase funding from diversified income streams to support growth and service delivery
Strategic goal 4: Improve information and communication technology systems for efficient and effective service delivery
Strategic goal 5: Strengthen Organizational resilience.
As such, it is important that we all understand and feel accountable to achieving the results therein. To this end, our Senior Management Team will work with clinical and non-clinical staff to translate the strategy into everyday operations through the annual operational work plans, making it increasingly tangible and relevant to every member of the hospital.
